Privacy Policy Statement relating to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (the “Ordinance”)

CDW Building Limited (the “Company”) recognizes and respects the privacy of an individual’s personal data. Please read on for more details on the Company’s policy and practices that it applies to the collection and use of your personal data. This privacy policy statement covers the personal data we will collect and handle when you register the 8½+ e-Privilege Card.

Types of Personal Data Collected

It is or will be necessary for you to supply to the Company data including but not limited to your name, contact number, correspondence address, email address, birth month, age, marital status, annual income and occupation (“Personal Data”) in the course of your registration of the 8½ Privilege Card held by the Company.

The provision of personal data is voluntary. However, failure to supply Personal Data may result in the Company refusing your registration of the 8½+ e-Privilege Card.

Purposes for which Personal Data are used

Personal Data collected or to be collected by the Company may be used for the following purposes:

1. Identifying you and verifying your identity;

2. handling your membership application, maintaining and managing your member account;

3. Communicating with you in respect of your use of the Company services, products, mobile application and/or website;

4. handling and following up enquiries and complaints, and matters related thereto;

5. conducting customer and service surveys;

6. designing new or enhancing existing services provided by us for customers' use;

7. with your consent, sending to you direct marketing and promotional materials of products and services provided by the Company;

8. administering and enforcing the rules of contests, lucky draws, promotions and games offered by us and/or the terms of our commercial dealings, and identifying the winners’ or customers’ identity when collecting prizes or gifts from the Company;

9. meeting the requirements to make disclosure under requirements of any law binding on the Company; and

10. any other purposes related to the above.

Accuracy of Information

You may be requested to provide certain personal data to the Company for specific services. If you fail to provide or update accurate information as requested for each specific service, the provision of such service by the Company may be affected.

Retention of Information

The Company will retain customers’ personal data for a period no longer than necessary for the fulfilment of the purposes for which the data is or is to be used. If customers have registered for the 8½+ e-Privilege Card, their personal data will be retained for a reasonable period after termination of their membership for verification and audit purposes. The above is subject to any legal, statutory, regulatory or accounting requirements.

Notice for Direct Marketing

The Company intends to use your Personal Data including but not limited to your name, telephone number, email address and other contact information collected for marketing communications such as direct-mail, email, telephone calls, SMS and targeted banners containing news, promotions, offers and events to be offered by us or by our business partners or future marketing purposes and/or joint promotions with our subsidiaries, holding companies, associated companies, affiliates or in conjunction with products/services offered by our affiliates or business partners in relation to the following classes of products and services: dining zone, shopping mall, office building, hotel, leisure boat, beach, park, hiking trail & leisure walk path, horse carriage, dining, retail, leisure and recreation, wedding and banquet, conference and event, education, entertainment, sport, health and wellness, spa and body care, accommodation and travel, transportation, credit cards, financial and investment services, real estate, publications and telecommunications, social networking, media and public relations, reward/ loyalty/ privilege programmes, charitable and non-profitable causes.

The Company may not use your personal information for direct marketing without your consent. If you do not allow and agree us to use the Personal Data for the voluntary purposes including direct marketing as listed above, please tick the opt-out checkbox when you fill in an online form or other documents (if any).

You may also opt-out from receiving any of our information and services at any time, free of charge. We provide the following opt-out channels for you to unsubscribe from receiving any or all of the above classes of products and services (please specify):-

Disclosure and Transfer of Personal Data

Personal Data held by the Company relating to you will be kept confidential. The Company may, where such disclosure and/or transfer (whether within or outside the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) of any such data and information is necessary to satisfy the purpose, or a directly related purpose, for which the data was collected provide Personal Data to the following parties:

1. Any subsidiaries, holding companies, associated companies, or affiliates of the Company;

2. Any agent, contractor or third-party service provider who provides services to the Company, its subsidiaries, affiliates, and associated companies in connection with the operation of their business;

3. Any other person or company who is under a duty of confidentiality to the Company, its subsidiaries, affiliates, and associated companies and has undertaken to keep Personal Data confidential; and

4.  Any person or persons who have a right under the Ordinance to gain access to Personal Data.
