About 8½

As the new hotspot in the heart of Tsuen Wan, "8½" brings together a diverse range of lifestyle brands and unique dining experiences in one destination and is poised to become the new dynamic and stylish retail landmark in Tsuen Wan. Spanning over approximately 270,000 sq. ft. of retail space, "8½" offers an all-round shopping and lifestyle experience for the family and the young alike, revitalising the established neighbourhood.

The name “8½” is steeped in heritage with rich historical connotations. In the early 1910’s when Castle Peak Road was built, the addresses along this main road were marked in “miles” to signify its distance from Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry Pier. For instance, the location of Anglers' Beach was referred to as “13 miles - Castle Peak Road” and Cafeteria Old Beach as “18¾ miles - Castle Peak Road”. Although nowadays the street name and numbers have been standardised, some of the actual milestones indicating the distance still exist. The current site is about 8½ miles from the origin of the road, hence its name “8½”.

“8½” enjoys an excellent transportation network with an air-conditioned indoor walkway linking it to the Tsuen Wan MTR Station (nearest exit: A3), over 30 bus and minibus routes connecting to different districts in Hong Kong as well as cross-border bus services providing convenient access to both Huanggang Port and Lok Ma Chau Control Point, making it easily accessible.
